Hey adventurers! I've got an important team update to share, as well as a few teasers for the next release.
Anika has left the team to do her own thing. She handled most of the communications for the project and was always there to cheer me on to continue working on this thing outside of my day job. She will be sorely missed. I'll do my best to pick up her community work until we find a replacement.
However, I've always been the sole developer on the project. Progress on that front will only speed up from here on out. In addition, now that I'm back in control of life, update frequency will be far less volatile and project direction more focused. Our most promising release yet was well underway at the beginning of the year before things were almost completely and permanently derailed 😅 BUT! We're back on track now and with a vengeance ⚔
What are we working on?
We have the first iteration of the explorable dungeon/adventure mode almost ready to play. The first adventure zone will be an upgraded version of our island biome, filled with combat encounters, new and returning NPCs, and more surprises. The next iteration of our battle system has also been under heavy development this year, with improvements such as tighter combat animations, VFX and audio ready for this release. The more significant system developments will come in the following releases, including battle/charm integration, character progression & deckbuilding.
When is the next build coming out?
I'm working to have the next major release ready within the next fortnight, so it's looking like early June. Ideally, just in time for the International Day of Slayer 🤘
