What are we working on?
Work is going very well; we're continuing to prototype the longer form, minute-to-minute gameplay as well as improvements to the feel of combat. We're getting excitingly close to having the skeleton of the entire RPG loop playable and fun, and we can't wait to get it into your hands and get your thoughts and feedback.
When is the next build coming out?
We're aiming to get the next build out for feedback ASAP and at the current rate of work that is looking to be in mid-late September 😁
Question of the week:
Is the beach coming back or will the hub area setup be different?
We're currently working hard on the first iteration of the hub area as it's one of the main things tying together all of the game's loops into an RPG. For now this area is a plain old 2D menu, though we're aiming for it to become a fully-fledged 3D zone filled with characters and life. Either way, the hub area will be functional first and foremost. As we flesh things out, it'll become clear whether the beach aesthetic fits with our theme for this :)
I'm fond of the beach zone, so it's probably going to end up in the game one way or another - as an easter egg or a chill sandbox mode if nothing else works out.
